How can we make trees and shrubs thrive when we plant them?  Like humans, plants need the right environment, nutrients, and place to put down roots.  Aldridge Gardens’ horticulturist Carolyn Snow will explain elements needed for optimal plant health, with emphasis on right plant/right place, planting time, soils, proper planting procedure and care after planting.  This  demonstration class includes handouts, samples of soil components, types, and amendments. A variety of mechanical and manual planting tools will be demonstrated as well as the proper planting of a container, bare root, or ball and burlap tree or shrub.  Each participant will receive a bare root tree or shrub.
