Where I can find info on hydrangea acuminata?
Q.  Do you have any information or can you tell me where I can find info on hydrangea acuminata?   I can't find it anywhere, but I know historically there was such a plant.

A.  Hydrangea serrata 'Bluebird' ('Acuminata') is a very old Japanese selection. The lace cap has pale blue infertile florets and periwinkle blue fertile florets. As the fertile florets are fertilized, the infertile florets turn face down revealing pink reverses. The foliage has burgundy tones turning uniformly dark in the autumn. It is a splendid candidate for a small garden. It grows in partial shade.
