Q. We live in central Florida, and we have read about you in Southern Living. We have had limited luck with hydrangeas but suspect they were propagated up north. Which do you recommend for our area? A. I would recommend the macrophylla type for your zone 9. There are two white cultivars that are outstanding for your area. Lanark White, which is a lacecap type, is one. Another is Sister Theresa which is a full or mophead type flower. You should be able to find these in central Florida at the garden centers. I suggest Kanapaha Botanical gardens in Gainesville. They will advise you on the best cultivators for your area. |
